"There is no fool like an old fool."

According to Machiavelli, "A man who wishes to make a vocation of being good at all times will come to ruin among so many who are not so good" (Machiavelli 37)." I sort of agree with the fact that if someone is set out to do all the good things, they will eventually set themselves up for failure. I agree with the fact that everything in this world is not going to be perfect and we all need to make some sort of mistake. This is the way we live and learn. It reminds me of the saying, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." Once that dog is old he then becomes lazy and there is nothing the owner could do. The similarity is that Machiavelli is stating that if one goes on to think that they are going to live the perfect life, they need to reevaluate themselves because there is more to it than just learning, it's also about living. No one is perfect and you have to lose some in order to win some.

Along with life comes mistakes and those mistakes are essential in the growth of the human mind. Without mistakes we would never learn...so we must live and learn!

I think that Machiavelli's quote about not doing good all of the time because it will end up badly in the end is somewhat true. Doing good is rewarding, but at the same time, it can be negative if people continuously take advantage of you. However, people do make mistakes, and from them we learn.

I somwhat agree with the quote from Machiavelli as many have already stated doing good is obviously the way of life. As people we are always taught to do the right thing and you will do rewarded. Do as to others as you would want them to do to you. However at the same though those who do good are always taken advantaged of or finishing last. What I think Machiavelli is saying is that its ok to do good however don't focus on always doing good and that its okay to do wrong sometimes because your only protecting yourself in some cases.

I agree completely with this post. I believe that nobody is perfect, and when you strive for perfection your expectations become so high and almost impossible to reach. Doing good is rewarding for the person until people start to take advantage of you and that is when always doing the right thing can turn into a negative thing. Machiavelli says that it is necessary for a Prince to choose when to do the right thing and always be cautious of those people looking to take advantage of him. It is okay to not do good all the time so people's expectations of you do not become impossible to live up to.

i agree with this quote and post one hundred percent. I think that in order to do good in the world people have to fail at somethings. Nobody can do everything and if they try, they cant do everything right. Its not human nature. People learn from their mistakes and by learning, what they do suceed in will be a greater lesson if they hadnt failed at all.
