1. What images/sounds are used to represent the different aspects of Plato's allegory?
In this interpretation of Plato's allegory, a house is used to represent the cave, the tv is used to represent the shadows being viewed, and the flame in represented by candles, while the ceiling light acts as the sun which hurts the eyes of the sheltered one.

2. Does the film use any of Plato's own words? Comment on how these passages are incorporated into the video.
This film uses Plato's own words, at least once when the speaker/actor quotes him on the words described for the, "rugged ascent"(p.447 ) as he explained the prisoner being dragged up to the sunlight. However, most of the language was more modern, and told in a story form, rather than the questionable dialouge of Plato.

3. How well does the video interpret Plato's theory of the cave? Are there any aspects of the allegory that the video leaves out? How does this affect the meaning?
Although frazzled an rushed, this film does express the theory of plato, showing us a version in wich we can understand and follow a human form, rather than visualizing a picture. The story line covered the priisoners from the beginning, being forced to lok forward, to the awakening of the sun, all the way to the explorers return to the cave. However, rather than revealing the end in depth of the prisoners reaction to the return, they only show disbelief in a quick response.

4. What kinds of modern meanings are represented?
By using Soap operas as the shadows in which the prisoners were forced to watch and create an understanding of reality on, the idea of the media is revealed in this film. If we were to grow up only watching soaps, and believing that that was how everyone lived, we would be astonished to see the real world being less dramatic, and more intellectual. This shows the affect that the media can affect the way we live, and view the world, as well as be disapointed or intrigued by reality.
