The government seems to being doing a better job at improving the education systems of the country. I feel that Friere would greatly appreciate our efforts. We are working towards making school less about teaching teaching and students learning to just being basically a room filled with students learning from eachother, that including the teacher. I feel that in a learning enviorment it shouldnt just be about a teacher standing there and talking but being more interactive and hands on with the material. The money that the government is said to have being put forward i feel does just that. It provide schools with more technology and other methods of learning for the students besides just talking, notes and tests. School is way more thatn that. Learning is more than just sitting and trying to force yourself to understand becuase that is what is expected of you, to 'ace" the test and in reality that is really all that matters. But it is better to think on your own which will bring you towards others ideas you m
ay have never thought of and you come to learn from yourself and others.

I definitely agree with you. If teachers keep giving students all the answers than students will never be able to think for themselves. In the real world there's no one telling you what to do so kids will have a lot harder of a time having to make their own decisions.
I do agree but only to a point. I was involved in a program throughout high school called "Upward Bound". This program is for college-bound students and it helps put you on the right track and get into a college mind-set. Well I stayed at UNH for three summers taking classes and it was an amazing program, it changed my life around completely. I wouldn't be in college today if it wasn't for that program. Well there has been a problem with the funding lately and the directors keep writing grants to keep the funding coming in, well this year President Bush decided to cut their budget instead of give them more or keep it at the same amount as usual. This resulted in many programs all of the U.S getting shut down and also in my program cutting off many different towns around NH (including my hometown) due to lack of money for transportation. I think that money should be spent on programs and other activities like that because it really motivates people to want to further their education.
Interaction is needed between students and teachers to enhance better learning. When students interact they could take the concepts of what everyone is saying and share their own perspectives as well. It helps the student open their thinking up to a greater horizon and helps the teacher know where the student stands in that class.
